History

FirstFed Bancorp, Inc. (the "Company") is a financial holding company located in Bessemer, Alabama. It serves portions of the greater Birmingham metropolitan area and counties to the south and west through its bank subsidiary, First Financial Bank ("First Financial"). First Financial is a state chartered commercial bank originally chartered in 1936. First Financial offers traditional deposit and loan products. First Financial conducts its business through nine offices, one each in Bessemer, Centreville, Hueytown, McCalla, Pelham, Hoover, Vance, West Blocton, and Woodstock, Alabama. First Financial Bank was created by the merger of First Federal Savings Bank and First State Bank of Bibb County. The name was then changed to First Financial Bank.
